Knowing is half the battle.
When most people think of power washing, they imagine a person shooting a laser jet of water to remove dirt and mold. This is definitely not the way it should be done, and using these techniques could cause damage to your siding, concrete and especially your roof. Using the wrong pressure on the wrong surfaces can also cause what we refer in the industry as “Zorro lines”, which looks like Zorro the swordsman used his signature moves on your home. Obviously, this is not what you want happening.
Enter the professionals.
Knowing what pressure (or lack thereof) and soaps to use in each particular instance will not only result in a superior clean, but will also save a lot of headache in the long run.
What is soft washing?
Soft washing is the current industry standard for many of your home’s substrates, including vinyl siding, wood, faux wood decks and more. Yes, a pressure washer machine is still used as a delivery method for the water and soap, but the rules are different as soft washing concentrates on the volume of water and surfactants coming through our specialized wand tips, rather than relying on sheer, reckless blasting power.
The techniques differ between different substrates. The pressure used to clean asphalt roof shingles is less that what comes out of a garden hose (hence no-pressure roof cleaning). On the other hand, concrete, stone and brick require a little more “oomf” to remove the grime, so the methods are adjusted accordingly.
